3GPP has completed the first 5G specification

Organizations that set industry standards for technologies that will replace the 4G LTE standard, 3GPP, specify 5G equipment specifications for both towers and smartphones.


This means that the 5G standard has been set so that network and radio experts can work on one platform for 5G devices.Launched from the GSM Arena page, features, functions, services, and standards have been established for operators, telephone makers, and radio equipment manufacturers, so now have a foundation to start producing and launching 5G equipment and services worldwide.

Not only that, 3GPP has set things like system architecture, core network interfaces, network backing, and migration from 4G.


A number of operators, smartphone makers and component manufacturers such as Qualcomm, Orange, T-Mobile, AT & T, Samsung, ZTE, Sprint, Telefonica, Verizon, Sony, Nokia, MediaTek, and Huawei have expressed their excitement and their commitment to 5G.

Not yet known which smartphone maker will be the first to make a smartphone capable of 5G.
